About Us

The Dodge County Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation, advancement and dissemination of the knowledge and history of Dodge County, Wisconsin, specifically Beaver Dam.

The Dodge County Historical Society, an affiliate of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, was formed in 1938, for the preservation of articles pertaining to pioneer days and to the early history of Beaver Dam.

The society maintains Beaver Dam’s only museum, housed in the historic Williams Free Library building downtown. Admittance is free although donations are encouraged.

For those interested in researching their family history the Dodge County Historical Society and Museum offers historical documents, photographs, and expert guidance to assist you.

The museum offers many educational and entertaining events, including a monthly speaker series held on Saturdays. Guided tours are available upon request for large groups or for field trips. Visit our events page to learn more.
